24 Hour Workout Challenge: Youth Week 2026.

13 / 05 / 2026

This Youth Week, we're going non-stop.

From midday Thursday 21st May to midday Friday 22nd May, our kaimahi will be tagging in and out for a full 24-hour workout at Tinana Gym — moving, lifting, sweating, and showing up for our rangatahi.

Why 24 hours?

Because supporting young people doesn't stop. And neither do we.

This mahi is more than just a fitness challenge, it's a reminder that when we look after our taha tinana (physical wellbeing), we strengthen every other part of ourselves too. Our hauora is whole. Our bodies are a foundation, not an afterthought.

Did you know Tinana Gym is free to access for community?

If you work across the rangatahi space, this space is yours. Tinana Gym is a free community gym available to orgs just like yours. A place where your people can move, recover, and thrive without cost being a barrier.

We want this week to spark a conversation: How are the organisations walking alongside our young people also looking after their own people?

Come join us for the final stretch — Friday 21st May from 9am!

As we power through the last hours, we're opening the gym doors to the community. Come in, pick up a weight, jump on a machine, or just cheer us on. And yes there will be a free BBQ for all supporters who come through. Bring the whānau.

DONATE SPORTS GEAR AT TINANA GYM

Donate your uneeded sports gear!

While you're cheering us on, why not bring a bag of gear? We're proud to be supporting Gear Up Ōtautahi, a community-led programme helping Eastside rangatahi access the sports equipment they need to get active. You can drop off donated gear right here with us at Tinana Gym during business hourst, or head directly to their base at the Avon Hub, 77 North Parade (the old Shirley Boys' Gym). They're accepting shoes, balls, racquets, and bats, clean and in good condition.

Helmets and clothing unfortunately can't be taken. Every piece of gear you donate goes back into the community through schools, clubs, and local events.
